Pre & Postnatal

Alana completed the Pre & Postnatal Pilates Specialist training course offered by The Center of Women’s Fitness’ Carolyne Anthony Sidhu in April 2014. The training covered the following important topics:

  • Pelvic Floor Health and Dysfunction
  • Prenatal Pilates
  • Postnatal Pilates
  • The Center’s method for Diastasis Recti Recovery

Prenatal private & semi-private sessions

  • We will use the pilates equipment at the studio to aid in your release, stretching, and strengthening of the body for birth. 
  • Our pelvic floor and core actually need encouragement to be released as many of us have overly tight fascia and often over recruit these muscles. This can cause issues during labour and in the postpartum body (abdominal separation and pelvic floor dysfunction)

Postnatal private & semi-private sessions

  • Offered for 1 year post delivery
  • Bring your baby to class while we work to gently restore your body and regain postural alignment and core strength

Prenatal Pilates Group Class at Reflexions Yoga Studio in Penticton

Class is done on the stability ball (or in the prenatal world- the birthing ball) with the addition of light props and also on the mat. Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
